Tad Rhinos Superleague XIV Preview - Round 4

From what was looking like a mundane trip to Warrington and an easy win over Jimmy Lowes side, something a lot more spicy has reared its head.

We're now off to face ex-Leeds messiah Tony Smith, drafted day to supervise the ex-Leeds hooker as he tries to pull the Wolves season out of the fire.

Take a look at Tads appraisal and predictions and then see how Oldham Rhino and myself agree with our cuddly pundit.

Here are my thoughts on this weekend's action in Super League XIV, Round 4;

GIANTS v. FC

A cracking game in store as both sides go into the game with a good win behind them. Hull have a great record at the Galpharm but the Giants are a different side under Nathan brown. They are far more structured and play some great RL. Horne and Thorman are enjoying playing behind a big pack and Danny Tickle has been in fantastic form. If both sides can stay injury free they will have a big say in this seasons honours. A tough, tight game in store and I’m going for Hull to just nick it. Hull by 8

REDS v. 'QUINS

Salford were shocking at Cas last week, truly awful while Quins should have beaten Wigan. It’s hard to see Salford improving and I think Luke Dorn will tear them to bits. I hope so he’s in my fantasy team! Quins to have far to much for the Reds. Quins by 10

DRAGONS v. TIGERS

Catalans desperately need a win to get back on track while Cas have been supurb for the last two weeks. They had 9 different try scores last week which shows how strong they are this season. Catalans however have a strong pack and I reckon they will be to strong for the Tigers on Saturday. Dragons by 12

CRUSADERS v. SAINTS

After a poor display last week, HKR were far better than the scoreline suggested. Saints could not have a better game to regain some confidence. Pryce will be back and I can see Saints hammering the boyo’s.

WARRIORS v. BULLS

SKY show the battles of two of the basement clubs, we couldn’t have predicted that one 5 years ago. The Bulls have been so predictable this season. Strong in the pack, gaining a lot of ground but the backs have been awful. Deacon and Jefferies must be the worst half back pairing the Bulls have had for 30 years. Wigan are not much better. Quins blew it last week when they were the better side for much of the game. Noble to come out after the game and predict Wigan will have a say in the race for honours when we all know different. KR v. WILDCATS

Two inform sides meet on Sunday in what could be a good game to watch. Wakefield at the moment are a one man team. Brad Drew has been superb, the best player in SL so far by a mile. He needs some of his team mates to step up to the mark though. HKR played really well against Leeds and were far better than Saints than the 2 points suggest last week.

WOLVES v. RHINOS

The only good thing about Leeds losing to manly is the boys won’t have been on the lash all week! Leeds need to sort out the right centre position and I would like to see Gibson get a game on Sunday and stop this Ablett/Watkins rotation.

Wire have been dreadful this season. No heart, no passion, no tactics. However they usually step up against Leeds and I can see a tough game for the champions, especially with Tony Smith involved at the Halliwell-Jones. Leeds will be too strong and I tip the boys to triumph by 14 points.
